North Hills dinner theatre presents first play in 2006

Gibsonia, Pa. - Jan. 10, 2006 - Tickets are still available to Marc Camoletti's clever comedy, "Don't Dress for Dinner" to be presented Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road. Cost per ticket is $19, available by calling 724-444-KEAN (5326) or by visiting www.keantheatre.com.

Audience members have the option of attending dinner at 6 p.m. in The Washington Place's Mount Vernon Restaurant. The menu features a choice of chicken cordon bleu or stuffed pork chop served with tossed salad, parslied potatoes, fresh vegetables, bread stick, tiramisu and glass of wine. Dinner and a ticket are $37. The backstage bar and box office open both evenings at 7 p.m. "Don't Dress for Dinner" is sponsored by UPMC Health Plan, an Oscar-level sponsor of the Kean Theatre, and NexTier Bank, an Emmy-level sponsor.

This comedy of errors begins with Bernard eager for a weekend rendezvous with his mistress, Suzanne. His wife will be gone for the weekend and he has hired a gourmet cook to serve up tantalizing treats and his best friend Robert will be there as a perfect alibi. When his wife finds out that Robert is coming she changes her plans and stays. Turns out she is having an affair with Robert. The cook is mistaken for the mistress, the mistress mistaken for the cook. With the ensuing lies and false identities; the plot soon develops more twists than a corkscrew. The nonstop action guarantees that if any of the characters ever fall into bed, all they will be able to do is sleep.

"Don't Dress for Dinner" is directed by Tom Madden, the managing director of the Kean Theatre, and a veteran of the Pittsburgh theatrical scene. The cast includes Kean Theatre veterans Richardo Vila-Roger playing Bernard, his wife Jacqueline is played by Ginny Quaglia, and Kristen Scannell plays mistress Suzanne. Making their Kean debut is Tom Bickert as best friend Robert, Elysia Annacini playing cook Suzette and her husband George played by Tom Smithyman.

The Kean Theatre is open to the public and has built a reputation for its convenient location, free parking, quality entertainment and elegant setting. The theatre is operated by St. Barnabas Charities, the fund-raising arm of St. Barnabas Health System. The Health System also includes St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas, The Arbors at St. Barnabas, The Village at St. Barnabas, The Woodlands at St. Barnabas, The Washington Place at St. Barnabas, and St. Barnabas Medical Center. Theatre proceeds benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund.
