Kean Theatre Brings Back Oldies Concert Series
Wee Jams to kick off 'Summer of Fun'


Gibsonia, Pa. - June 8, 2007 - William Dell and Wee Jams will kick off the Summer of Fun oldies concert series at the Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road. The 2007 season at the Kean marks the fifth Summer of Fun oldies concert series, featuring six great bands, some who call Pittsburgh home.
A general admission ticket to all six shows is available for a special rate of $134. Or, a general admission ticket to any three shows can be purchased at a 10 percent discount. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund. William Dell and Wee Jams - Saturday, June 16
One of Pittsburgh's most popular oldies groups performs the songs of the 1960s mixed with rhythm and blues, and swing. William Dell and Wee Jams bring back a sound born of the '60s but very much in tune with today - a night of memories that will not soon be forgotten! Tickets are $27.

Superstars in Concert - Saturday, June 30
Join in the fun as impersonators of Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Neil Diamond and the Blues Brothers take the stage at the Kean. Superstars in Concert is rated the No. 1 touring impersonator show. This promises to be an evening of nonstop fun. Tickets are $27.

Johnny Angel & The Halos - Saturday, July 14
Back by popular demand, Pittsburgh's top oldies band plays in what lead singer Johnny Angel calls one of his favorite places. Johnny Angel & The Halos traces its history back more than 30 years and has worked with legends such as Frankie Valli, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis. Today, the band is comprised of seven singer/musicians. Tickets are $28.

Abbey Road Beatles Tribute - Saturday, July 28
The Fab Four are back! Pittsburgh's original full-scale impersonator show is rated as one of the top five Beatle tribute bands in the country. Relive the "good old days" with a band that brings back great memories. Tickets are $27.

The Vogues - Saturday, Aug. 11 The Vogues got their start in 1958 as students at Turtle Creek High School. Audiences will remember "Turn Around Look at Me," "You're the One," "Five O'Clock World," and "My Special Angel." Tickets are $29.

Pure Gold - Saturday, Aug. 25 Five voices in perfect harmony, plus a red-hot rhythm section add up to nothing less than Pure Gold. Pure Gold draws most of its material from the '50s and '60s. They also serve up a blend of blues and original material to highlight each member's dynamic vocals and instrumentation. Tickets are $29.

Since opening in 2002, the Kean Theatre has attracted audiences of all ages and built an excellent reputation for its hassle-free location, top-notch entertainment and elegant environment. The theatre serves a worthwhile charitable cause with proceeds benefiting the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund. In 2005 alone, the Free Care Fund provided more than $5.84 million to patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas who could not otherwise afford their care.

The Kean Theatre is operated by St. Barnabas Charities, the fund-raising arm of St. Barnabas Health System. In addition to the Kean Theatre and the Charities, the Health System includes St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas, The Arbors at St. Barnabas, The Village at St. Barnabas, The Woodlands at St. Barnabas, The Washington Place at St. Barnabas, and St. Barnabas Medical Center. Since its founding in 1900, St. Barnabas has provided care apart from the ordinary and has maintained its charitable mission of never turning away a patient because of inability to pay. Today, St. Barnabas Health System is the largest health care organization of its kind in Pennsylvania.
