Winners of Kean Idol's Rounds 5 and 6 Selected
Vocal championship to be held March 30
Gibsonia, Pa. - March 13, 2007 - Sara Cope of Freedom and Jordan Luntz of Saxonburg were named the winners of Vocal Rounds 5 and 6, respectively, in the 2007 Kean Idol Amateur Talent Contest on Sunday, March 11 at the Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road. They each received a trophy and the right to compete in the semi-finals of the Kean Idol competition on Friday, March 24.
Now in its fourth year, the goal of Kean Idol is to raise $20,000 for the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund while providing a fun singing and dancing competition for area residents. By the end of the contest, nearly 200 contestants will have taken to the Kean Theatre stage. Although there is no entry fee, each contestant is asked to sell 10 tickets. The contest is mirrored after the popular TV shows "American Idol" and "Dancing with the Stars." At the five Kean Idol vocal preliminary rounds, a panel of judges narrowed the large pool of contestants down to eight semi-finalists who will advance to semi-final competition.
