PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS® to be Featured on Channel 11 Phone-A-Thon

Gibsonia, Pa. (Richland Township), Nov. 11, 2005 - The annual PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS® campaign will be featured during a phone-a-thon from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 on WPXI-TV (Channel 11). Viewers of WPXI's morning news broadcast will be encouraged to call in and "adopt" a long-term care patient by agreeing to personally deliver a present to him or her this holiday season. The campaign aims to match more than 22,275 nursing home and personal care home patients with a gift and visit this holiday season.

Founded in 1984 by St. Barnabas Health System president William V. Day, the mission of PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS® is to brighten the holidays for long-term care patients by matching them with a visitor from the community who brings a gift. Over the years, the program has grown to include 260 facilities in four states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and New York. Since its inception, the campaign has provided gifts to more than 250,000 patients.

Ten volunteers will answer callers' questions and sign callers up to participate. WPXI-TV, which serves as a co-sponsor of PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS®, will feature the campaign in news stories, public service announcements and interviews with Valerie Day Wilden, PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS® spokeswoman.

Those watching the phone-a-thon will be encouraged to adopt a patient or support the program by calling (412) 333-WPXI. Donors may also call the PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS® hotline, which is open through Dec. 24, at (724) 443-0011. More information is available online at www.PRESENTSFORPATIENTS.com.

PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS® is operated as a community outreach program by St. Barnabas Charities. For more information about PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS®, call 724-443-0011 or visit www.PRESENTSFORPATIENTS.com.
